UFC 92 Is Now History In More Ways Than One

Did it live up to all the hype

First of all for UFC92 to be billed as the most stacked Mixed Martial Arts card of the year, it had some serious expectations to live up to. And as far as I'm concerned it did just that! I mean... man talk about the "Ultimate" for 2008...this was definitely it for me. Now I must admit that not all of the fights were highlight reel material, but all in all, it was smokin'.

Quick Recap Of The UFC92 Main Card

Rashad Evans v. Forest Griffin- Evans by TKO in the 3rd
Antonio"Minotauro" Nogueria v. Frank Mir- Mir by TKO in the 2nd
Quinton"Rampage"Jackson v. Wanderlei Silva- Jackson by KO in the 1st
Cheick Kongo v. Mustapha Al Turk- Kongo by TKO in the 1st
CB Dollaway v. Mike Massenzio- Dollaway by TKO in the 1st

Here's My Inflation Adjusted Two Cents

First of all I gotta ask... Did Nogueria look like he even showed up for a fight? I mean don't get me wrong here...I really like Big Nog and all but he looked more like he was taking a Big Nod during the fight. With that said I still have to give Mir his props for a well executed gameplan.

They say that revenge is best serve cold, well that's exactly what Rampage did to Wanderlei Silva, knocked his ass out cold! I gotta say though, it wasn't nearly as vicious as the can of whoop-ass that Wanderlei opened on him the last 2 times they met.

And now for the "coop de gracie"(I've been watching too many cartoons)
Forest Griffin is one of the toughest fighters in MMA...in my opinion...and he executed a pretty good gameplan ie; leg kicks, multiple jabs and keep him on the outside, kinda like what he used against Rampage, but Rashad is a totally different kinda fighter. First he's quick, elusive and quite powerful...which I think he has proven now. He checked most of those leg kicks, did not attempt to stand right in front of Forest and "bang" and topped it off with his superior wrestling ability for the takedown and then it was a rap.

And Another Thing...

I actually did pretty good in my predictions 4 outta 5 on the main card...didn't bother with the under card...so let's see what the future brings. I not a gambling man but if I was I would have made a killing. Oh yeah, that kid Matt Hamill is a beast, keep an eye on him.
